Electron scattering experiments and vibrational spectroscopy are carried out in this new chamber using a LK-2000 HREELS spectrometer with an electron energy resolution of 3 meV or 28 cm-1. This spectrometer has a feature that allows us to continuously vary the incident beam energy in energy loss studies over a huge range, from 0 - 100 eV. This is a three-level UHV chamber, with AES, XPS, UPS, LEED, HREELS, and TPD capabilities. The ancillary electron spectroscopy is performed using a PHI double-pass CMA. Also in this chamber is a H-atom beam doser and a methyl radical source.
